This event is rain or shine! Come prepared to spend some time investigating outdoors.

No, no apps involved! We created this one because we participated in an app one once and were....disappointed. We are a bunch of escape room loving geeks who wanted to create a more challenging type of scavenger hunt. You will be interacting with real actual humans(!), and while at least one person on your team will need a smartphone to possibly interact with some of the clues (and that's all I can say about that part), the scavenger hunt will rely on you to be observant and able to solve puzzles and put together clues you gather through various sources.

As this is a spy-themed event, and you are competing against other spies...you need to be fast and discrete. If a contact thinks you are being too obvious, they may go to ground and you'll miss your chance to get the info...or you may give away info to the other teams and allow them to follow you to the prize! It is all in how much stealth and skill you have compared to the other teams.

We recommend comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing and comfortable walking shoes.

The event will involve walking, intermixed with possible time in a car (optional). While we try to ensure that all locations are accessible, the game takes place outside in Mechanicville, with teams determining which routes to take. Therefore, we cannot guarantee your route will be accessible to all.

Much or all of the event can be done on foot. Parking in the city should be easy to find, so teams can decide to drive, walk, bike, etc. It is up to the teams to decide which option works best for them.

Yes, at least one person on the team will need a smart phone with access to the internet. You may also need a phone that can read a QR code.

Additionally, some information may come from your informants via texts or phone calls, so a working phone is a requirement.

All minors will have to have a parent or legal guardian sign the waiver for them on the morning of the event during the morning registration process. No one will be allowed to participate without signing a waiver.

During registration, you have the option to click “yes” for Purchase Protection. Any refunds will be provided through the Purchase Protection. Refunds will not come through the event organizers.

This is a timed event. Teams that do not finish within the allotted time will be given a DNF (Did Not Finish).

While we encourage healthy competition, we frown upon unsportsmanlike behavior. Any team found to be exhibiting unsportsmanlike behavior will be disqualified.

Teams can be 1-4 people. We strongly recommend teams of at least 2 member each, so you can bounce ideas off each other and share the puzzling roles!
